Amanda Bynes publicity stunt puts Barack Obama on the spot

On June 5, 2012 Amanda Bynes was formally charged with DUI in a California court system. The judge placed in charge of her case also oversaw the arrest cases for actress Lindsay Lohan.

Amanda Bynes was arrested in California under suspicion of DUI back in April of 2012. At that time she was arrested because she allegedly ran into a police cruiser with her car. The police officer (who she claims was angry at the time) asked her to take a breathalyzer test because the accident occurred at three o’clock in the morning. The actress refused and also subsequently refused a blood test. Now, she’s tweeted a public cry for help — asking United States President Barack Obama to fire the police officer who arrested her at the time.

When Bynes was a child she was very precocious and clearly displayed a high intellect. Now, knowing she is likely to be in considerable legal trouble, she’s using the celebrity scandal to get herself additional free press. Tweeting up Lee to United States Pres. Barack Obama, Bynes has asked for the leader of the free world to fire the officer in question. She believes that the officer simply charged her with DUI because he was angry that she had bumped his cruiser.

As a television star, Bynes was on the Nickelodeon channel for years. She was one of the children who starred on the improv comedy show “All That” and had her own show called “The Amanda Show”. Recent big-screen movie roles include “Hairspray” (a John Waters film with co-star Zac Efron) and “Easy A” (with co-stars Emma Stone and Stanley Tucci).

Normally a blonde, at the time of her arrest she was sporting lavender locks that looked to be a similar orchid shade to the haircolor “Fashion Police” star Kelly Osbourne has been sporting recently. The mugshot was not as bad-looking as many other celebrities who have been arrested that such strange hours in the past have been, but you could tell that she was less than amused space at having to pose for the camera while in the pokey.

Her latest move to tweet the president and ask for his help is a brilliant publicity stunt. Even if the tweet plea does make her look foolish with the court, Bynes has become infamous for even trying.
