Hollywood movie actor Johnny Depp, star of the upcoming film “The Lone Ranger”, is investing more of his spare fortune into celebrity real estate (a financial trick that many wealthy people use to avoid paying taxes). But he’s not tucking away big dollars into random land investments simply for the sake of keeping more of his own profits. He’s allegedly been buying up already gorgeous luxury property to help ease the pains of a romantic split from model Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children. What’s more, he seems to be being playing the gent and giving them to her as gifts for her benefit. That’s the latest news about celebrity real estate purchases coming in from Hollywood insiders as of late. How gallant.
Apparently his latest home purchase is a romantic parting gift (of sorts). Depp’s rumored to have purchased a gorgeous Spanish style home replete with charm at a purchase price well over $4 million. According to NBC News, “The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has netted more than $300 million for his box-office-smashing film work…” so buying his ex a luxury property for the rumored $4.4 million price he spent is not likely to hurt his piggy bank savings one bit.
“The gesture [of buying a home for her with so much romantic curb appeal] goes a long way to preserving the peace between Depp and Paradis, 39, the mother of his two children, 13-year-old Lily-Rose and 9-year-old Jack…” said the news outlet. Paradis has a reputation of being difficult to please, though — and has been credited for encouraging Depp to remain almost completely reclusive the past 10 years.
Zillow reports the 5,800-square-foot home is, “nestled on a wooded lot of an Hollywood A-lister retreat off Mulholland Drive. Along with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, the Mediterranean spread earns its “wow” factor from the exposed wood beams, the masterful tile work and swimmer’s pool and spa.”
Celebrity gossip sources like IMDb confirm Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp were never married. Mainstream media outlets like NBC also confirmed their long-term live-in relationship “officially” came to a not so surprising end after months of rumors and speculation about the couple fighting excessively hit the Internet.
Once Depp and Paradis moved from France to Los Angeles last year, it appeared she could not take living in the United States with him. They elected to split and have been striving to remain amicable for the sake of their celebrity kids.
The celebrity couple had previously made their home together in the South of France. They also resided on a private island in the Bahamas on a family compound they built using eco-friendly construction.
