The Lady Gaga celebrity diet confessions may help other skinny star celebs come to terms with their own body image and propensity to risk their health for the sake of being thin. The press coverage and media interest about anorexia and bulimia stories has increased exponentially since the singing sensation admitted her struggles with the diseases the last week of September in 2012.
Mainstream media news sources such as USA Today, Forbes magazine, the Daily Mail UK, and the LA Times all devoted lengthy stories covering her mother monsters admissions. While some websites like the Huffington Post chose to focus on the fact that Gaga admitted she was making herself vomit as a teenager, others like E Online chose to focus on her recent weight gain that has fan websites buzzing about whether or not she looks the same, worse, or better.
But Lady Gaga is not letting the celebrity diet conversation dominate her career. She’s actually used her “body revolution” to promote and reinvent herself once again in the artistic sense. The singer has confirmed that she will release a second album with legendary male vocalist Tony Bennett.
Her duet rendition of “The Lady Is A Tramp” on Bennett’s Duets II album was an instant classic with multiple generations of fans. Now, the two star celebs are allegedly teaming up to create a new jazz album says Entertainmentwise celebrity gossip magazine.
So, while she’s been busy posing for pictures wearing nothing but her underwear and showing off her newly sculpted but more ample physique, Hollywood insiders are gagging at the thought that maybe — just maybe — you don’t have to be super skinny to be proud of your body, successful, or sing.
Nowadays, more than one famous celebrities are wishing they hadn’t thrown up that last piece of cake or pie and wish they had gone ahead and ordered up that extra slice of pizza or a tasty cheeseburger.
With the media focusing on stars like Jessica Simpson and Kirstie Allie struggling with yo-yo dieting, Leann Rimes thin frame, and even have expressed concern that teen stars like Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus have been struggling with their own eating disorders, the song they sing in press praises about Lady Gaga remain (essentially) the same.
Mother Monster, if nothing else, is a performance artist who says and does exactly what she wants for the sake of her art. If she gains weight it is going to be perceived as a “statement”. If she loses weight, then she is trans-morphing her body into a new art form.
While Christina Aguilera will forever look like she is fat because she can’t step away from the buffet, her rival will always look like her body weight changed because she meant to do that. It’s enough to make any Hollywood insider gag, the fact that Stephanie is able to do that — but hey, look at the positive.
Now you can order dessert again and if anyone gives you an ounce of flack about not being able to button your pants at the end of a meal you can turn the conversation around to highlight the message of Body Revolution the pop diva has cleverly spun her own fat pants news to talk about.
