Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he and mistress Brigitte Nielsen had an affair. Why? It just might be that because she announced during the ex-California governor’s most difficult time that the two of them had been sleeping together back in the 1980s.
Nielsen chose to announce that she had slept with her leading man right around the time when the story broke about his celebrity scandal involving the maid, his illegitimate son (a love child bore by her), in his impending divorce from Kennedy family member Maria Shriver.
Because the actress is struggling to keep her career afloat, she opted to capitalize on Shriver’s misery while Arnie still had the attention of all the tabloid magazines. Making herself look like a home-wrecker who was proud to have been sleeping with an otherwise taken man, the former lover of rap singer Flava Flav and ex-wife of actor Sylvester Stallone really made herself look like more of an attention for than anything.
Now that Schwarzenegger has confirmed that she was telling the truth about having slept with him back in the day, her name is prominently featured on the headlights of tabloid gossip magazines. The scandal is not exactly helping sell magazines or winning her any friends back in Hollywood social circles, but you have to give the 6’1″ celebrity credit for trying.
After all, being a D-listed celebrity who is essentially all but banished from every red carpet event can’t be easy on the ego. Especially, that is, if you’ve prided yourself your entire life on being a “glamazon” Barbie.
