Golden Globes: Star celebs smile gingerly as green celebrity Ricky Gervais hosts awards night?

Golden Globe Awards!

Hollywood highs for award winners, laughs for red carpet guests and star celebs —

[Jan. 16]

Who is Ricky Gervais? He’s a funny actor and stand up comedian with big fans in the Hollywood social circles. While Jane Lynch’s black dress took the best look of the night on the red carpet and quite possibly the funniest awards acceptance speech, Ricky Gervais was the host with the most when it came to eliciting smiles from the audience and getting big laughs consistently.

Some of Ricky Gervais’ targets for jokes included Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, and Charlie Sheen.

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are both well known green celebrities who donate time and money to support humanitarian causes. If Gervais is right, they also “accept bribes” from the press corp to spend time hanging out with them in the green room before and after awards ceremonies. The two were nominated for their roles in The Tourist — a film that was not well liked at the box office and surprised many to hear the dynamic duo had been nominated.

Charlie Sheen — who is notorious for partying — was another target for Gervias roasting. Gervais quipped that the Golden Globes night was one for heavy drinking and partying — saying the festivities for Hollywood guests gone wild was what Charlie Sheen would consider a normal breakfast.

When Gervais introduced actress and model Olivia Wilde and Twilight star actor Robert Pattinson as nobody important, anyone under the age of thirty absolutely cracked up laughing. Robert Pattinson even looked nervous in his tuxedo standing next to the stunning HOUSE actress Olivia Wilde — who looked ravishing in a sparkling black and bronze strapless ball gown.
