Will Smith daughter Willow Smith the next iconic Annie?

Willow Smith, the gifted and talented daughter of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith has been cast to play Annie in the remake of the musical Annie being headed by Sony, rap artist Jay-Z, and Overbrook Entertainment, owned by Will Smith. Willow, 10, has a music single out now called ‘Whip my hair’ that has helped her start her career as a performer – she will be on tour with Justin Beiber, singer promoting her album this year. With her energetic moves and sassy smile, she has great potential to make it big in Hollywood! How will Annie change her career?
The red hair character Annie has traditionally been played by a Caucasian female girl. The part will undoubtedly take on a whole new spin as we see Willow, an African-American girl make it her own. This new, contemporary version of Annie we will see from the Smith family will be a real treat!
As for Willow, it is refreshing to see a young performer take her parents footsteps and make a positive impression on her peers. While only 10 years old, Willow appears to have a great sense of self which I feel will be a good influence on other girls her age.
As time progresses, I hope she will use her star power in beneficial ways to help others that may be struggling with injustice. While still a child, she has the potential to become a great icon in the world of celebrities. As one of the new era Gen Me brat teens and ‘tweens rat pack of Hollywood celebrity kids, she is already making her mark, and thank goodness so far it seems to be a positive one due to strong parental supervision!
Her brother Jaden Smith has also played in a remake of the Gen X movie classic Karate Kid. He reprises the role by playing a young African-American boy who moves to Asia with his mother. There, he takes up a friendship with Jackie Chan and the two begin the process of saving one another through Karate, honor, and character building competition.
Suffice it to say, this is one talented family of green celebrities.
