30 Rock star Alec Baldwin advises Charlie Sheen how to keep winning?
[Mar. 13]
Green celebrity Alec Baldwin, star of 30 Rock on NBC has some words for Charlie Sheen. Namely, “Sober up.” The 30 Rock actor posted a rant of his own late Friday on The Huffington Post, calling Charlie Sheen a “drug-addled, porn star-squiring, near-Joycean Internet ranter.” Harsh words, but not entirely unkind. Alec Baldwin also noted that Charlie Sheen’s fans are still standing by him and he called the troubled Winner “a great actor.”
Alec Baldwin said, “When executives at studios and networks move up to the highest ranks, they are given a book. The book is called How to Handle Actors. And one principle held dear in that book is that no actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit.”
Fans and fellow actors alike are doing their best to point Charlie Sheen in the right direction, but Sheen may have too much pride right now to back down. Charlie Sheen’s $100 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. Television is testament to that fact. He is suing for the eight canceled episodes from this season of Two and a Half Men, on behalf of himself and the rest of the cast and crew.
But Charlie Sheen seems to be the only one getting terribly worked up over it. He called costar Jon Cryer a “troll” for not publicly supporting the vendetta against Warner Bros. Television and Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre. He really isn’t making friends this way.
Still, the 30 Rock star and green celebrity Alec Baldwin is offering what advice he can. He recommends Charlie Sheen make a large donation to B’Nai Birth, an international organization dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism and says Sheen should buy Jon Cryer a nice car to make up for the name-calling.
“Sober up, Charlie. And get back on TV, if it’s not too late. This is America. You want to really piss off Chuck and Warner Brothers and CBS? Beg for America’s forgiveness. They will give it to you. And then go back. You are a great television star. And you’ve got the gig,” Alec Baldwin wrote in his Huffington Post piece, Two and a Half Men Is Better Than None.
While Charlie Sheen’s fans are still rooting for him to stick it to the man, green celebrity Alec Baldwin may have the best advice of all for the actor who once was the highest paid television actor in the world for his role on Two and a Half Men, at nearly $2 million per episode. Sheen would do well to endear himself to CBS, his former fellow cast members and crew, and the fans that are waiting for him to return to television.
Maybe he could take a few pages out of green celebrity Alec Baldwin’s book and do some charity work. Alec Baldwin narrated the PETA film, Meet Your Meat, and he is well known for his contributions to fighting AIDS as well as for his political opinions. Perhaps if Charlie Sheen worked a little harder to express himself positively, he could get what he wants without pushing everyone away.
