Who is Niki Taylor and why is she famous?
[Mar. 13]
A Florida native (one of the few these days) and supermodel, Niki Taylor, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, lost her younger model sister, Krissy Taylor, to ventricular dysplasia in 1995. Niki has supported the HollyRod Foundation, modeling for fashion shows to benefit the foundation, and she has been a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet. Niki’s chosen charity for her battle on Celebrity Apprentice is the American Red Cross.
From the time she became a model at the age of 13 Niki Taylor was a hit, reports RobotCeleb.Com. She was on the cover of Seventeen when she was 14 and on the cover of Vogue at 15. In 1996 she set a record by appearing on the covers of six major women’s fashion magazines at the same time.
Niki Taylor was once known as one of the hottest supermodels in the world. Tragedy struck again, though, forever changing her life. In 2001 she was critically injured in an automobile accident when her boyfriend at the time dropped his cell phone and took his eyes off the road. The couple hit a utility pole and the green celebrity was left unconscious for six weeks and bedridden for a month after she awoke. She endured 56 different surgeries during her recovery.
Also, according to RobotCeleb.Com, in 2007 Niki Taylor sued the E! Entertainment Network for slander and emotional distress. They did a profile on her promising to promote her success along with struggles from the accident, but instead they misrepresented her as a failure whose life had been filled with tragedy. She settled that suit out of court.
Since the accident, green celebrity Niki Taylor has recovered remarkably well, and she hopes to win this season of Celebrity Apprentice so she can benefit the American Red Cross. She’s a proven fighter, and she brings that strength to bear on the show. Time will tell if she has what it takes to win, but there is little doubt this green celebrity is already a winner. [Not a Charlie Sheen type Winner though, we hope.]
About the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet:
The American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet was developed in 2002 as part of the Entertainment Outreach Program to help our organization highlight important initiatives and response efforts.
The award-winning combination of well-respected actors, musical artists, television personalities, athletes and other public figures are “on-call” to help the Red Cross by donating their time, skills, passion and energy for a one-year term when it’s needed most.
Niki Taylor credits the American Red Cross for saving her life. “In a way, I owe my life to the American Red Cross and the doctors who worked on me,” the green celebrity said in a Celebrity Apprentice video, according to the American Red Cross website. “If it weren’t for the blood, I wouldn’t be here.”
The third episode of Celebrity Apprentice 4 will air Sunday, March 20, at 9 p.m., on NBC.
