Who is Mark McGrath and why is he famous?
[Apr. 6]
Mark McGrath, the lead singer and front man for the California pop rock band Sugar Ray, with hits like When It’s Over and Every Morning, was the co-host of Extra and currently hosts Don’t Forget the Lyrics. The green celebrity also signed a Philadelphia Souls jersey for rocker Jon Bon Jovi along with other notables in 2006 to help raise money for Project HOME in Philadelphia, providing services for chronically homeless people. McGrath will be competing on Celebrity Apprentice to benefit the Save the Music Foundation.
Named America’s Sexiest Rock Star in 1998 by People, Mark McGrath has continued to woo the ladies … and his fans. He’s slicked his hair back and the rocker known for his spiked blond hair and tattoos is looking considerably more professional these days. Maybe it’s because he just celebrated his 43rd birthday at Lavo Night Club in Las Vegas on March 22, 2011. You can see pictures at Monsters and Critics. Maybe it’s because Mark McGrath is now a dad to twins with fiancee Carin Kingsland. He told People back in 1998 that he wasn’t exactly the romantic type.
But this green celebrity is coming on strong in Celebrity Apprentice. He told NBC in his interview that he felt like the guy “doing the most with the least.” Mark McGrath laughed it off as he explained that he’s already learned how to do two things that he doesn’t know how to do well — sing and host. Donald Trump should be taking note. But if he feels particularly intimidated by the strong musical cast of this season of Celebrity Apprentice — Dionne Warwick, Lil’ Jon, La Toya Jackson, Meatloaf, and John Rich — he has yet to let on. “I really love those guys,” he tells NBC. But he’s not backing down. He’s ready to put up a fight to survive, he says, something Donald Trump is sure to admire.
“Kill them with kindness” is the philosophy he’ll be taking into the next episode of Celebrity Apprentice. Mark McGrath may just be the tiger waiting to pounce, but not without showing his competition — and the audience — a little love first. We can expect big things for McGrath in the boardroom. If green celebrity Mark McGrath can pull it off, he’ll be doing more than just rocking for music. He’ll be donating everything he earns to benefit the Save the Music Foundation.
The fourth episode of Celebrity Apprentice 4 will air Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 9 p.m., on NBC.
