Demi Lovato speaks out about her mental illness?
[Apr. 15]
Disney Princess Demi Lovato recently was released from rehab over alleged drug and alcohol issues, after striking out at one of her dancers for confessing the teen starlet’s partying to her parents. Then she confessed to Seventeen magazine about an eating disorder. Just this Thursday, the singer and actress tweeted encouragement to Catherine Zeta-Jones, who also has gone into treatment for bipolar disorder, and she had only positive words for the actress and wife of Michael Douglas. All of these events for the celebrity teen made major media headline news. That is pretty exciting for an up and coming starlet, pop music star, and television personality — considering the very real fact most adults in America have never heard of her.
“I don’t know Catherine Zeta-Jones personally but what she has decided to do it SO brave.. And SO difficult but worth it… I’m proud of her,” the Disney starlet said on Twitter. News flash to Generation Me.
And speaking of Twitter, don’t let Demi Lovato know that you text while driving. On Wednesday, she tweeted a twitpic of a man in a car next to her, obviously looking down toward the steering column instead of at the road ahead of him where he should have been looking. Huge entertainment journal response.
Demi was not impressed. “FYI – this is how dumb you look when you are texting while driving…. Hahaha #donttextndrive,” reports Earsucker.com, and she added, “P.s. I was NOT driving when I took this! :p” Good for you! We don’t need any more irresponsible drivers on the roads. Talk show fodder.
[And the Disney princess might just punch you like she punched her dancer when she had her breakdown. Kidding! She’s better now. Feature article.]
According to MTV:
Earlier this week, [Demi Lovato] announced she was teaming up with Jed Foundation’s Love Is Louder Than the Pressure to Be Perfect campaign and Seventeen magazine, and in a PSA for the campaign released Thursday (April 14), the 18-year-old singer/actress opens up about the movement and advises others where they should turn to when feeling burdened.
Demi Lovato seems to be getting back to her stronger side both because of and in spite of media attention.
TheBoomBox.com has reported that Disney princess Demi Lovato will be collaborating with record producer Timbaland. They have been sending messages back and forth, confirming the collaboration.
“The pairing may come as a surprise to fans of the Disney princess, but Timbaland listeners have come to expect inter-genre collabos on his ‘Shock Value’ releases. In the past, he has worked with Miley Cyrus, Fall Out Boy, Elton John, Katy Perry and more.”
Timbaland has been feeding the streets with weekly song giveaways as part of his Timbo Thursdays series, but he’s saving his bigger records for his upcoming album, ‘Shock Value III.’ The super producer revealed that he’s currently working on a track with troubled teen star Demi Lovato, chatting with her over Twitter about their unlikely collaboration.
We’re sure whatever is on the plate for the Disney princess singer and actress Demi Lovato, it’s all good. She’s well on her way to recovering from the anxiety and stress that lead her to drugs and alcohol and an eating disorder. We’re also proud that she spoke up for Catherine Zeta-Jones who is having her own issues with mental illness. Rehab is not a death sentence. It’s a step toward recovery.
Congrats, and keep up the great work, Demi Lovato!
More posts about the Disney Princess certainly forthcoming.
