Another Anne Hathaway scandal?
Is that real leather we see actress Anne Hathaway wearing for the new Batman movie the Dark Knight Rises? The Hollywood darling who is reported to be a vegetarian has been bragging to the press that her new Catwoman costume is closest to the look of the original comic book character than any of the other star celebs has worn who played the iconic super heroine.
Michelle Pfeiffer still has our vote for sexiest Catwoman of all time. Her latex cat costume in shiny black vinyl made her petite frame look as if she was voluptuous and about to bust out.
Halle Berry wore tight leather pants in her rendition of Catwoman. She looked great as she promoted Jaguar cars, but her heavy pants did remind us quite a bit of the luxury automobile’s seat leather.
Now that we’re well into the 21st century, Anne Hathaway — who is known for her healthy diet of vegetarian fare and fitness routines — is surprising us by suiting up for the new movie remake in what appears to be heavy biker leathers.
While comic book movie fans will most likely be delighted to see the Disney princess from Ella Enchanted and film star from The Devil Wears Prada suit up in black sexy goodness, it is likely that the folks at PETA might feel differently once they see the fashion diva.
Why?
Because whether you wear fur or leather makes little difference to an animal killed to provide the material for the project.
To that end, we’re keeping our fingers crossed the lovely Anne Hathaway avoids an animal cruelty scandal by telling us the Catwoman costume is actually made from a Vegan leather alternative. If not, her cat suit could be the BANE of her existence.
