The Twilight actress known for being one of the most needy characters in the modern world is about to play a seriously tough girl in a new adaptation of a fairy tale film based on the character Snow White. Who is actress Kristen Stewart when the cameras are not rolling? As a famous humanitarian, her star shines bright green on camera and off as a new role model for young starlets and women.
Who is Kristen Stewart?
Actress Kristen Stewart is five feet six inches tall, has wavy auburn hair (which she dyes often for different looks), and green eyes (though she wore brown contacts for her role as Bella Swan in Twilight), and her trademark look (at least off stage) is her brooding scowl. Born on April 9, 1990, she is an Aries astrological sign, a sign known as often for its energy as it is for its quick temper, both of which characterize the star celeb. Playing a brunette bad girl seems to be a part closer to her heart than acting like Bella (who always seems a bit too washed out).
Born in Los Angeles, California to a showbiz family with a history of television production and stage work, she hadn’t intended to become an actress. But, paradoxically, she did have an interest in making films. Her introduction to being the center of attention as a local celebrity came at age eight, when she was noticed in a Christmas play. After a year of auditions, she was given a non-speaking part in a Disney Channel movie, The Thirteenth Year — a part that got her a small amount of national fame.
Subsequently, Kristen Stewart, or KStew as she is affectionately known, got cast for a significant part in The Safety of Objects (2001), her break-out role. The following year, she played alongside acclaimed actress Jodi Foster in The Panic Room (2002), for which she received a nomination for a Young Artist Award. She received another nomination in 2003 for Cold Creek Manor with Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone.
Though Twilight was a huge leap for her in terms of her career success regarding fame, she has continued to shy away from the spotlight and has claimed she had fun working on several indie projects.
Kristen Stewart, famous humanitarian and new role model for women?
Off camera, Kristen Stewart is known as a green celebrity humanitarian for her support of charities that help with AIDS, homelessness, disaster relief, women’s rights, abuse, and more. She is known to have supported the following charities: Oxfam, the Red Cross, and Shoe Revolt. But, the famous humanitarian actress is most famous for her role on the silver screen playing Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga, the trilogy of films based on the book series by writer Stephenie Myer.
She is best known for her particular role as the needy girl protected by a werewolf in the vampire films.
That helpless female stereotyping happened much to her dismay. Because she feels she has been typecast in Twilight, even though she has enjoyed making the films, she feels a bit pigeonholed. But, she is about to win American hearts in the role of a very tough and non-traditional interpretation of Snow White — one where she aggressively battles the Huntsman. Fiercely.
For that bold move, we’re starting to like this girl.
Who has Kristen Stewart dated?
In the past, she was romantically linked to Michael Angarano, her co-star from the Showtime film, Speak. That film is considered one of the more important roles she has had in her career (but not because of the romance).
The real romantic interest (she keeps very quiet about) is the relationship she has had with co-star Robert Pattinson from the Twilight movie series. Rumors surrounded the two as a couple, given the on-screen chemistry between the pairs characters in the film, long before either ever hinted that they might be an item.
Now, the latest celebrity gossip in the fall of 2011 heading toward the movie release date seems to be coming from actor Robert Pattinson as he makes his way around Hollywood on the talk show circuit.
Talking to Jimmy Kimmel live on late night TV this week, he joked that Kristen’s animated gyrations during the filming of the Breaking Dawn honeymoon scene were what kept the film from being rated; to get it down to PG13 they had to really cut back her love scene clips.
Earlier in the week, she had giggle fits sitting next to naughty comedian Dave Attell during a racy celebrity interview with Jay Leno — actually showing her emotional age one of the first times many fans had seen her do in person or on live TV.
In her latest celebrity interview for Entertainment Tonight, she seemed more confused by claims Rob had been making that during the Breaking Dawn wedding scene, the pair were actually married by a real priest. As it turned out, the actor who married them got his ministers license a few months after they filmed the scene.
Rob also chastised himself while talking to Kimmel, confessing that in the early part of his career he often made up ludicrous stories during press junkets to see how much the media would believe. During the interview his mother and father were sitting in the audience looking very proud of their son but nodded to agree.
Now that he’s made his confession, folks wonder how much of the Robsten romance story has been fabricated to some degree. However, whether or not those two are really a hot and heavy item off-screen does not seem to affect either star’s box office sales or paparazzi-fueled popularity.
