Batman actress Anne Hathaway engaged is a new rumor swirling on the internet, but is the celebrity romance gossip true? According to Gossip Cop, her reps say yes. The former Disney princess got engaged over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend of 2011, but to who?
Anne Hathaway engaged a true rumor? Yes and no it seems. The new Catwoman who will make her appearance in the new Batman movie the Dark Knight Rises has officially confirmed she is engaged — but not to that tool of an ex boyfriend Raffaello Follieri who has been spending time in jail for all kinds of nasty criminal financial stuff.
While the National Enquirer has been pushing a fake story that Hathaway has been courted by her ex-boyfriend while he’s been serving time behind bars, Gossip Cop has been getting busy verifying which Anne Hathaway scandal has merit (as well as which ones do not).
Reaching out to the green celebrity’s reps, they are reporting her press camp has both denied an ongoing love connection to Raffaello Follieri and confirmed she is wearing an engagement ring now.
Apparently new boyfriend Adam Shulman has proposed. Hathaway said yes over Thanksgiving weekend of 2011 — and she was spotted out wearing her pretty new engagement ring shortly thereafter.
The actress has been busy the past year filming the new Batman movie Dark Knight Rises with actor Christian Bale. Bale recently announced he will no longer play Batman in any future movies and says the Batman movie era (at least with him playing the lead under the direction of director Christopher Nolan is over).
Bale, known for his bad temper and huge ego, has never had his name in the press for much more than temper tantrums and rants. Anne Hathaway, on the other hand, while having her name dragged through the mud in the Raffaello Follieri scandal and for her very sexy love scenes with actor Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs, has had plenty of good press.
There is speculation Christian Bale quit Batman because he was jealous over how much attention she is getting from the press.
While she did get panned for her Oscar host appearance in 2011 with actor James Franco (and subsequently lost a re-up to comedian Eddie Murphy — who then quit and is being replaced by funny actor Billy Crystal to host in 2012 [at the Kodak Theater in Highland on Sunday February 26th]), she got big kudos for her performance in The Devil Wears Prada with Meryl Streep. She’s also well remembered for her work with Julie Andrews in the Princess Diaries.
Anne Hathaway has been an outspoken advocate for LGBT civil rights over the years. Her brother is gay ans she has spoken out on his behalf and in support of gay marriage rights since she was 15. She also is a strong advocate for children’s charities. Her favorite one to endorse is the Lollipop Theater, a non-profit organization, “dedicated to bringing the magic of movies currently in theaters to children confined to hospitals nationwide due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses.”
So who is this Adam Shulman? Other thank knowing he is one lucky guy, the media will have to get back with you on that one… because his story is still developing. Apparently, they have been dating quietly since 2008 and she thinks he is a total cutie.
