American Idol 2012 has some fierce competitors but early predictions about which of the men and women have what it takes to go all the way to the end have already begun. Since the folks at Fox split the top 24 into a girls team and a boys team, people are wondering which of the men could be a competitor and which of the women will have the strength to compete with the boys. Since Scotty McCreery beat out Lauren Alaina for the right to call themselves the American Idol champ, it looks like there are two big voices to beat in the 2012 season — Jessica Sanchez from the girls team and Reed Grimm (he’s the man to try to catch). Voted “Cutest Guy” by Nickelodeon for 1986 and 1987, Baby Boomer David Jones (aka Davy Jones, lead singer of 60s band The Monkees) guest starred in episodes of the American television series “My Two Dads” [a show watched by many members of Gen X]. In 1993, fans spotted him guest starring as himself in an episode of the popular “Herman’s Head.” Before that time, he appeared on the hit show of the same name, was nominated for a Tony Award on Broadway, and acted on British TV as a child star. Has actor Tom Cruise become an idle idol? The Tom-Kat publicity machine cruised the celebrity couple straight through the Academy Awards 2012 festivities and rituals, barely on idle. Pop Sugar shared, “Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes stopped for photos on their way inside Vanity Fair’s Oscars bash in LA tonight… Tom skipped the red carpet at tonight’s show, where he presented best picture to The Artist. He attended solo, though it looks like Katie decided to join him in celebrating Hollywood’s biggest evening.” The party is one of Hollywood’s most famous Oscar parties. Celebrity Apprentice Arsenio Hall will be playing for the Magic Johnson Foundation, supporting urban youth by focusing on HIV and AIDS prevention for the last 20 years, when the NBA star celeb was diagnosed with HIV back in 1991, shortly before he retired from playing professional basketball. Oddly enough, celebrity death hoax rumors swirled earlier in the year about actor Eddie Murphy, another celebrity friend of Arsenio Hall who played the lead role in Hall’s last memorable hit film Coming To America. Penn Jillette is best known as a magician and comedian often performing alongside another magician and comedian Raymond Teller in the hit Las Vegas act known as Penn and Teller. Watching him work a crowd while fund raising on the hit show Celebrity Apprentice in 2012 would never give you the idea he was not 100% comfortable playing an extrovert.
