Troubled Lindsay Lohan to play controversial mobster daughter in John Travolta movie?
[Apr. 10]
Rumors are flying that troubled Lindsay Lohan has been hand-picked by Victoria Gotti, controversial daughter of the famed mobster John Gotti, to play the role of the mob daughter in a new John Travolta film, TMZ reports. It is rumored that Victoria Gotti is friends with the Lohan family and visits them on Long Island. Lohan also is auditioning in Los Angeles for a role in Superman but is returning to New York to wrap up talks about the Gotti film, starring John Travolta. Other picks for the role are Blake Lively and Sienna Miller.
MTV attempted to confirm the choice of Lindsay Lohan for the Gotti role alongside John Travolta with a representative for the film who would neither confirm nor deny any talks that may be underway. When asked if Lohan was hand-picked by Victoria Gotti for the role, the representative said only, “You’d have to ask Victoria Gotti.”
The film is to be called Gotti: Three Generations, and is confirmed to star celebrity John Travolta in the leading role as mobster John Gotti, head of the Gambino crime family, according to MTV. Lindsay Lohan already knows a little something about crime from both sides of the bars. She has rejected a plea deal for her latest theft charges and is opting for a trial instead. It could mean jail time for her if convicted, and could stall production of the film if chosen.
After four months in rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic earlier this year, Lindsay Lohan could use the work and the distraction. MTV further notes that Lohan was turned down last year for a role in Inferno about Linda Lovelace because the film’s director had said “the impossibility of insuring her” squashed the troubled actor’s chances.
