Ever the eccentric, quirky green celebrity pop star, Katy Perry, is helping out the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan in her own crazy way. The Glow Company reports Perry is selling glowsticks at her concerts on her California Dreams tour across the UK and the funds will go to the Red Cross Relief to assist earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.

“When I play Firework, let’s ignite the light for them tonight,” Katy Perry said of her hit single, encouraging fans to purchase the glowsticks and wave them while she plays the song at concerts in the UK on her California Dreams tour.

According to Fox News, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have devastated the country, killing a reported 8,133 and leaving 12,272 more missing following the catastrophe. Miyagi prefecture was the worst hit, with 4,882 confirmed dead. Numbers may continue to rise.

Tsunamis — sometimes referred to as tidal waves, though they have nothing to do with tides — are enormous bodies of water (usually oceans) disturbed by a massive disruption in the earth or a large underwater explosion. Japan is particularly susceptible to tsunamis because of the number of earthquakes that hit the nation. Tsunamis add to the devastation caused by earthquakes as the water continues to crash ashore, carrying away tons of earth, cars, boats, buildings, and people.

Angelina Jolie had her hands full as she touched down in New Orleans with her six kids today.

Pax held onto his briefcase while Maddox sported his Saints jersey and led the way for Zahara.

Shiloh ducked into the awaiting car quickly and Vivienne got a ride in Angelina’s arms.

The family are in Louisiana to join Brad Pitt, who has been in the city shooting Coogan’s Trade.

Brad has been working night and day on his new movie as Angelina has been tending to her philanthropic duties before bringing the crew to meet up with him in their Louisiana home.

Jolie and Pitt have been home owners of a private residence located in the French Quarter of NOLA for several years now, and the family are huge New Orleans Saints football fans.

Green celebrity David Cassidy is best known for his role as Keith Partridge from the 1970s television show The Partridge Family. At his peak, he was the highest paid live performer of his time. Cassidy submitted a doodle for National Doodle Day in 2008 to raise awareness about the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis, which can lead to a host of disfigurements and other conditions. He was hoping to benefit the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation, but was fired in the first week of Celebrity Apprentice 4.

In the end, the women’s team sold more pizza — $170,000 worth, and that was enough to make them the winning team. That meant the men lost, and among the guys, Cassidy brought in the least money; in fact, his big ‘get’ was a $1,000 order made by his own daughter, Gossip Girl actress Katie Cassidy.

Awww, David Cassidy, c’mon. Did you pay her to do it too? We know that you’re a green celebrity and friendly to the environment and people around you, but business is a little more cut-throat, you know?

Cassidy unfortunately was a little too soft for The Donald (Donald Trump) even though he didn’t earn the least amount of money for the pizzaria. [Jose Canseco earned nothing, though that may be less than “least”.] Green celebrity David Cassidy just couldn’t come to terms with the backstabbing that is inherent in big business (or with the other famed celebrities on Celebrity Apprentice 4). Donald Trump saw Cassidy as a liability in business, apparently, and gave him the axe. At least he had the distinction of being the first one fired.

So is The Hulk leaving TNA for good — and if so, will he enter retirement as a celebrity senior or head back and remain a competitive celebrity athlete at WWE?

She was a co-hostess for 10 years on ABC’s The View and she was the E! hostess for the Red Carpet Pre Awards show until they parted ways in 2005. Jones has a soft spot for children and family charities, and she supports the HollyRod Foundation, which works to support those with debilitating life circumstances — Parkinson’s Disease in particular. Jones will playing to benefit the American Heart Association on Celebrity Apprentice 4.

Star Jones also supports Champions for Children, which supports Safe Horizon’s battle against child abuse. While perhaps best known for roles in television journalism, the green celebrity is an accomplished lawyer, having earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986.

Jones became especially well known for her work during the William Kennedy Smith rape trial in Palm Beach, Florida. Jones’ work caught the attention of Jeff Zucker, then executive producer of the Today show. “She had knowledge of the legal aspects, but she talked like a regular person,” Zucker recalls. The show first booked her as a guest. A few weeks later, she was offered a full-time contract as an NBC-TV legal expert.

Her career continued to take off when she was assigned to take on the role of chief legal correspondent for Inside Edition. Star Jones was tasked to follow the infamous O. J. Simpson trial, and became the only correspondent to interview Simpson during the civil proceedings.

Following her time at Inside Edition, she was offered a spot on The View on ABC, which was nominated for an Emmy award consistently from 1999 to 2006 and won the Daytime Emmy Award in 1997 and 2004 while green celebrity Star Jones was a co-host.
