The holiday was created to help raise worldwide awareness of environmental issues, climate change, and the need for what eco-friendly people call positive environmental action. Latin supermodel Gisele Bundchen, originally from Brazil, and wife of celebrity athlete football player Tom Brady is challenging Americans and global citizens to go green for the day.
