Celebrity Apprentice 2011: Who is La Toya Jackson and why is she famous?

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is La Toya Jackson and why is she famous?

[Mar. 29]

La Toya Jackson, sister of Michael Jackson and the first of the Jackson girls to have a solo music career, is most famous for her Playboy centerfold issue of April 1989, which became the magazine’s best selling issue to date with over 8 million copies sold. Her dance hit Free the World in 2005 was inspired by the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers in New York City and became a national icon for the green celebrity. As a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, La Toya is playing for AIDS Project Los Angeles, one of the largest nonprofit AIDS service organizations in the United States.

Sister of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, and Janet “Miss Nasty” Jackson, of Superbowl “wardrobe malfunction” infamy, La Toya Jackson has plenty of spark of her own. La Toya is no stranger to green celebrity status and charity. She performed on the single We Are the World, to help with the starving citizens of Ethiopia.

The green celebrity also starred in a lesser-known video for Stop the Madness, with an anti-drug message. She had a track, Just Say No, which she wrote for Ronald Reagan’s anti-drug campaign, in 1988, on her self-titled album. But it was around this time that she began to show a less conservative side, under the management of her husband, Jack Gordon, who La Toya says her father forced her to marry, according to IMDb.

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is Jose Canseco and why is he famous?

[Mar. 27]

Retired Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco participated in the 7th annual World Poker Tour Invitational in 2009 to benefit the Vine Group which assists with educational materials for English-speaking nations in Africa, and in the Aces & Angels Celebrity Poker Tournament with green celebrity Kim Kardashian to benefit firefighters in southern California injured in the line of duty. He will be on Celebrity Apprentice to benefit the Baseball Assistance Team, which aims to assist former baseball players and others who have fallen on hard times and are associated with the game.

As the American League’s Rookie of the Year in 1986 and the first player to hit forty home runs and steal forty bases in a single season, José Canseco was one of the outstanding baseball players of his day. Canseco never played for a single team more than two and a half seasons, because of his controversial attitude — an attitude that is beginning to surface with Richard Hatch on Celebrity Apprentice 4. Canseco made himself well known when he outed much of major league baseball by by writing a book, Juiced, in which he claimed as many as 80 percent of all MLB players used steroids at some point in their careers.

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is John Rich and why is he famous?

[Mar. 24]

John rich is a country singer known as the Stevie Wonder of Country Music. He played with Carrie Underwood, Hank Williams, Jr., Jake Owen, Rodney Atkins, and Rodney Watts for the Salute to the Troops concert in 2009 for soldiers and family of Fort Campbell, KY, an airborne division of which was returning to the Middle East. He’ll be sponsoring St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on this season of Celebrity Apprentice.

John Rich, who is a green celebrity intent on winning this season to benefit pediatric medicine, will be reuniting with Big Kenny of Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) fame this year, much to the delight of fans. Big Kenny is a heartfelt green celebrity as well, and the two are looking forward to getting back together for the 2011 Xtreme Musik tour this summer, according to TheBoot.

Celebrity Apprentice 2011: Who is Hope Dworaczyk and why is she famous?

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is Hope Dworaczyk and why is she famous?

[Mar. 24]

Hope Dworaczyk is the Playmate of the Year for 2010 and was the Playmate of the Month for April 2009. She’s also the host of her own fashion show, Inside Fashion, on Canadian TV. Hope will be sponsoring the charity Best Buddies, a nonprofit organization to create opportunities for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Every good reality show needs its hottie, and Playmate Hope Dworaczyk fits the bill nicely, as host Donald Trump probably had intended. Trump, after all, owns the Miss USA pageant, and he’s got a good eye for good looking women. The Donald has had on previous seasons of Celebrity Apprentice Playmate Tiffany Fallon and Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks.

As if the buxom brunette’s Playmate of the Month and Playmate of the Year statuses weren’t enough, Hope Dworaczyk is the first to appear as a 3-D centerfold in the June 2010 issue of Playboy, complete with 3-D glasses which Hugh Hefner couldn’t afford to put in a magazine back in the 1950s.

Celebrity Apprentice 2011: Who is David Cassidy and why is he famous?

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is David Cassidy and why is he famous?

[Mar. 16]

Green celebrity David Cassidy is best known for his role as Keith Partridge from the 1970s television show The Partridge Family. At his peak, he was the highest paid live performer of his time. He still occasionally sings songs from the show. Cassidy submitted a doodle for National Doodle Day in 2008 to raise awareness about the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis, which can lead to a host of disfigurements and other conditions. He was hoping to benefit the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation, but was fired in the first week of Celebrity Apprentice 4.

Radar Online reports:

In the end, the women’s team sold more pizza — $170,000 worth, and that was enough to make them the winning team. That meant the men lost, and among the guys, Cassidy brought in the least money; in fact, his big ‘get’ was a $1,000 order made by his own daughter, Gossip Girl actress Katie Cassidy.

Awww, David Cassidy, c’mon. Did you pay her to do it too? We know that you’re a green celebrity and friendly to the environment and people around you, but business is a little more cut-throat, you know?

Cassidy unfortunately was a little too soft for The Donald (Donald Trump) even though he didn’t earn the least amount of money for the pizzaria. [Jose Canseco earned nothing, though that may be less than “least”.] Green celebrity David Cassidy just couldn’t come to terms with the backstabbing that is inherent in big business (or with the other famed celebrities on Celebrity Apprentice 4). Donald Trump saw Cassidy as a liability in business, apparently, and gave him the axe. At least he had the distinction of being the first one fired.

Celebrity Apprentice 2011: Who is Richard Hatch and why is he famous?

Celebrity Apprentice 2011!

Who is Richard Hatch and why is he famous?

[Mar. 14]

Richard Hatch is no stranger to the boardroom. A former corporate trainer and licensed real estate agent, Hatch is also a survivor. In fact, Hatch is the $1 million winner of the first Survivor reality television series, and he’s looking to survive again on Celebrity Apprentice 4. If he wins, he plans to benefit Grassroot Soccer to promote HIV and AIDS education in Africa.

Richard Hatch continually asserted that his experience as a corporate trainer was what allowed him to work with other people and ultimately come out on top in Survivor. And there is no doubt the experience will come in handy on Celebrity Apprentice. But the audience should pay close attention to how he manages his finances.

The green celebrity went to prison in 2005 for three years for failing to pay taxes on his 2000-2001 winnings from Survivor. And reportedly he will be returning to prison for nine months for having failed to pay the IRS still.
