Those remaining contestants were Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, and Jessica Sanchez. When the bottom two were Hollie Cavanagh and Colton Dixon, viewers and the judges were shocked to hear that he — not she — had been voted off American Idol 2012 by America. Dixon apologized to the judges, said he would pay attention to their criticisms when he’s making an album, and kept his head up defiantly throughout the elimination process.
