Famous Hollywood actor George Clooney won the 2012 Critics Choice Award for Best Actor Thursday night for his performance as dad Matt King, a man simply trying to keep his family together while his cheating wife was in a coma. His movie The Descendants (according to the Toronto Sun) was billed as a ‘Comedy-Drama’ — a new film genre the actor seems to be successfully carving out in the movie industry despite the idea creating copious eye-rolling from critics initially. George Clooney openly supporting gays and gay marriage (finally)?
The Wrap (an entertainment news website) reports Clooney will star in a one-night-only production of “8”. The theater production will happen at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on March 3, 2012. Directed by Rob Reiner, all proceeds from the LGBT civil rights supporting event will go to the American Foundation for Equal Rights, of which Reiner and play writer Dustin Lance Black are founding members. The show “8” will be a rendition of the same production that ran in New York City in September of 2011. That production cast boasts other big name Hollywood star celebs like Morgan Freeman, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, and Christine Lahti. Keep reading…
