Actor Dennis Hopper was honored in a film montage at the 2011 SAG Awards January 30, 2011.

Younger fans remember Dennis Hopper the most for his work as the mad bomber retired from the police force in the movie SPEED. He co-starred with green celebrities Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves.

His trademark was playing the bad guy — and in SPEED, Hopper played one of the most memorable villains of them all. However, he was also well-known and will be long remembered for his roles in blockbuster Hollywood movies like Easy Rider, Blue Velvet, Waterworld and Hoosiers — all of which earned him a variety of awards nominations.

Other film credits included the original movie version of the John Wayne Western film classic True Grit (currently revisited as a movie remake with actors Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges), Rebel Without A Cause (with deceased actor James Dean), and Hang ‘Em High.

In addition to being an actor, green celebrity Dennis Hopper was also well-known for his skills as a photographer and patron of the arts.

Hopper’s art photographs are of special note: his works were already shown as photography exhibits at Fort Worth, Denver, Wichita, Cochran, and Spileto art museums, as well as the Parco Gallery and in the cities of Tokyo, Osaka and Kumatomo, Japan.

Regarding his start as a photographer, IMDb says, “James Dean learned [Hopper] had an interest in photography when they worked together, and encouraged him to pursue it as an alternative to just being an actor. Hopper published a book of photos in the late 1980s, including pictures of stars he’d known, and thanked Dean.”
