Here’s a strange news prediction. Pet friendly actress Kristen Stewart from the Twilight movie series is destined to become the next Carrie Fischer. That’s right… we said it. Just like the Star Wars movies made her popular back in the 70s and 80s, Stewart is likely to become as well-known and sought after to make new films as Princess Leah.
The primary cast of Twilight is so famous as the vampire characters, making the transition to other film genres that will draw the teen scene fans in record volume is going to be difficult. While Robert Pattinson might have been in the new movie Water For Elephants with actress Reese Witherspoon, how many people do you personally know who went and saw it?
Now think about how many folks you know who actually went to see one of the Twilight movies at the theater or who watched it on DVD.
Quite a few, I bet — unless you have been living under a rock or are well over the age of 50.
But our guess here at Green Celebrity Network is this… those adults who went to see the Twilight movies all know who Princess Leah still is — and chances are they can’t name 5 more films Carrie Fischer has been in since she played the space-age princess.
That’s the prediction for the career of actress Kristen Stewart — that no matter how many films she does in her future, none will draw as much attention at the box office than her character role played as Bella Swan romancing and marrying vampire Edward Cullen did.
Perhaps that is why she is terrified about what will happen to her career after the teens who made her rich and famous grow up and stop paying attention to her.
There’s no wonder, then, why celebrity gossip rumors are hitting the net this week about a secret wedding between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Nothing has been verified or officially denied in any convincing way by either of the two star celebs press camps about them having eloped, but the news is floating out there — putting the franchise more than their personal lives in the Hollywood spotlight just before the opening of the Breaking Dawn final film in the Twilight Saga opens this fall in theaters.
The cool part about the Twilight cast being typecast is actor Taylor Lautner is virtually set to assume a new career as a Hollywood action figure like Harrison Ford (who went on to do the Indiana Jones sequels). By playing the slightly off-beat and rugged character Jacob Black — the Han Solo equivalent — as well as his own werewolf Wookie, the former Shark Boy is already in a new teen friendly action flick called Abduction that premieres September 15th in Los Angeles.
In it, he’s involved in fighting scenes that put to use his real-life background as a competitive martial artist, gets to bounce off walls, and be in car chases. Who needs the Millennium Falcon or a bunch of Droids like C3P0 or R2D2 to back you up when you have all the teen girls in the country wooing and new rumors that you are dating your co-star love interest?
Yep — that is right. To dispel gay rumors that Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are lovers and that the romance between KStew and Rpatz is a front, Lautner has come out and confirmed he and Lily Collins are officially dating. To make it convincing, Lautner — unlike Rpatz, cas been photographed multiple times already kissing Lily and walking in public with his arm affectionately draped around her shoulder the same way any super cool teen boyfriend would with his girl while walking down the hall at high school.
[Also proving they are dedicated to being a celebrity couple, Kristen and Rob adopted a stray dog together from the set of Breaking Dawn, proving to us the marijuana activist actress is pet friendly and that he (as one of the stars who volunteered to answer phones at the George Clooney telethon to Help Haiti) is happy to follow her around and obey. “I want to keep this dog, Rob.” – Kristen + “Okay.” — Rob = Robsten version of long-term romantic commitment.]
But back to KStew… yep, she is likely to be the next Carrie Fischer.
While some of her Hollywood celeb fans are comparing her to actor Marlon Brando, we all know how that turned out. [Broke, alone, not working much (if at all) and again… with a quality of life most would consider financially and emotionally poor.]
That’s why we think a more fair comparison might be between Kristen Stewart’s work in the Twilight movies, her rise to fame as a typecast character, and Princess Leah in Star Wars… because even if you can’t name 5 movies with Carrie Fisher, she is still alive and kicking, having lived a fairly nice upper class life as a one-hit-wonder Hollywood actress who is world-famous (but has been essentially forgotten) for sure.
One can only hope the future for Robert Pattinson is brighter than the Luke character. For now, we won’t worry as he seems to have transitioned well from his role in Harry Potter and no one has come out of the woodwork yet to play act the whole, “Luke, I am your father…” scene with him yet — although we would love to see Mike Meyers do a Space Balls type movie spoof blending the two series with Goldmember telling RPatz, “Edward, I am your fa-jahhhhh…”
