She might look fabulous in her green Halloween costume but reality TV star Kim Kardashian has truly been bad for her own environment. The famed socialite and charitable star celeb, is officially filing for divorce on Halloween according to the reports a variety of rumor mills like TMZ, Hollywood Life, and E! Online News.
It’s almost official. Kim Kardashian, the most famous of the Kardashian sisters, is filing for divorce. Her relationship with basketball player husband Kris Humphries hasn’t been bouncing along as smoothly as expected these last 72 days of marriage. The green celebrity cited irreconcilable differences in her legal paperwork — so much for better or for worse, eh? Predictions the split would happen before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays now seem to be a bit eerie — especially since she is allegedly filing the papers today… on Halloween.
Rumors of an impending divorce have been surrounding the newlyweds for some time now, with Kim Kardashian having said her marriage to Kris Humphries hasn’t been quite what she expected. The news comes on the heels of the six month celebration of the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton — the famous humanitarians and eco-friendly activists from the UK the Hollywood couple was compared to at length by the American media.
Fox News reported earlier in the week that Kim has become frustrated with Kris not working because of the NBA lockout. Kim Kardashian had traveled to Dubai earlier in the month at a press conference there for the launch of Millions of Milkshakes at the Atlantic Palms Hotel. Millions of Milkshakes, founded by Sheeraz Hasan, donates part of its proceeds to charities dedicated to addressing poverty worldwide — so her participation at the event helped keep her name in the headlines as a green celebrity.
The hard-partying and harder working fashionista and television obsessed mom manager Kris Jenner were well-received at the charity benefit, but the homecoming was less than what she’d hoped for. Apparently hubby Kris Humphries hadn’t been practicing his game very hard and was instead spending a lot of time partying with friends while the wife was out.

“Kris is not drinking the Kardashian Kool-Aid,” a source tells the magazine. “She told him he needs to do something productive. The work ethic in that family really means something. He needs to get off his (bleep), like, yesterday.”
And the laziness factor seems to be the ultimate reason behind the impending divorce. At the time of their marriage, fans speculated on the couple’s troubles being able to find work in the same area, trying to find someplace to settle, but Kim and Kris said they’d work it out, even if that meant Kris finding a team closer to L.A. or Kim doing more traveling from L.A. where she’s been working. But maybe Kris had been enjoying the easy life a little too much?
Kim Kardashian had been saying just days ago, amid the swirling rumors, that her marriage to Kris Humphries was fine. Mom, Kris Jenner, said they just needed space and time to settle, citing different work goals and directions, but said that they’d work it out eventually. Not so, apparently. At least Kim had insisted on a prenup.
Given the rumors that the wedding had cost as much as $10 million, her 72 day marriage cost we mean EARNED the couple $138,889 per day. That’s quite a big payoff for an over-hyped, season long marriage most now seem to feel happened strictly to net the reality TV show more publicity in retrospect.
[Since her wedding was paid for and the viewing audience following her nuptials also helped her put rival reality TV opponent Paris Hilton out of the television business, fiscally and fame-wise the wedding was nothing but a plus.]
As far as love and reputation goes, however, Kim (who dressed up like the Batman movie character Poison Ivy [made famous by Uma Thurman in the version with green celeb actor George Clooney] for Halloween 2011 seems toxic. Such a waste, really — because she is so pretty.
Maybe mom shouldn’t have put so much pressure on the star celeb to tie the knot so soon to Kris Humphries. Actually, since it seemed she had sort of a cougar crush on the ball player, perhaps she should have steered kim away from him altogether. Had she shacked up with the young celebrity athlete on the side and then had him get into a fist fight on TV with Bruce Jenner, the ratings probably would have helped her earn more fame and fortune than her daughter.
