Justin Bieber and Cee Lo Green were two of the famous star celebs and humanitarians who sang to the United States President Barack Obama at the 2011 Christmas in Washington concert on Sunday December 11th. The even was an annual charity benefit that helps raise money for the Children’s National Medical Center. But looking back over the past year, what were some of these two green celebrities most famous humanitarian good deeds?

Cee Lo Green with Justin BieberUnited States President Barack Obama and his family got to enjoy another perk of being the leader of the United States. They were up front and center at the latest big name charity event in Washington, DC. Joining other Washingtonians in celebrating the Christmas season by attending an all-star concert performance, the Obamas got to hear celebrity friends like humanitarians Justin Bieber and Cee Lo Green sing Christmas carols for charity. MTV News reported the charitable deed, sharing, “Despite feeling a little under the weather, Justin Bieber performed for President Obama and his family at the 30th annual Christmas in Washington concert on Sunday, the Press Association reports. The show, which benefits the Children’s National Medical Center, also featured performances by Jennifer Hudson, the Band Perry, “Victorious” star Victoria Justice and Cee Lo Green.”

Justin Bieber, as a famous humanitarians, is a well-known charity advocate. He routinely donates a large portion of the proceeds from any of his celebrity endorsed product sales to charity. For example, he gives away profits from his new ladies perfume called Someday. This past year has been a tough one for him, as he’s gotten his first real taste of negative press — first for frolicking on a beach with his Disney Princess girlfriend Selena Gomez and then for being accused of fathering a child out of wedlock with a groupie after he sang at the Staples center in California. While the Biebs really did nothing wrong, gossip mongers and rumor mills hoping to cash in on the chance he’s been caught either doing a dirty deed or photographed in the act spent oodles of time trying to make the teen scene celebrity not shine. However, like Santa himself, once Bieber was able to wipe off the dust and grime of the accusation the same way our favorite fat celebrity does after squeezing down the chimney at Christmas time, he sparkled and shined once again like a star atop the Christmas tree. He was acting like a normal teenager who has a girlfriend and he was not that baby’s daddy. He’d never met the groupie — and he used each interview about the celebrity scandals to give a press bump to the food bank charity his new Christmas album sales were benefiting.

Cee Lo Green has also had a big year, although nothing so dramatic has happened to him like the Biebs has been enduring. He’s had green celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow sing a remake of his hit song on the LGBT friendly show GLEE. He’s made some amazing special guest appearances on awards shows, and he’s even done a new 7-UP commercial for regular TV. [Who knew that Coca Cola was still making the clear soda pop in the polka dot can that’s green?] The former member of Gnarls Barkley has made quite an impression this past year on the charity benefit circuit. Actively becoming a famous humanitarians, he’s released a song with Beyonce Knowles that benefits charity, has been a big supporter of Soles 4 Souls (a non-profit organization that helps provide shoes for underprivileged kids in third world countries), and he’s even signed on to take part in a Michael Jackson charity benefit concert to help raise money for the AIDS Project Los Angeles and the Prince’s Trust. But the most fun thing he probably did this year so far (in this writer’s humble opinion)? He got to sing and participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to the delight of all the special guests and visitors to New York City over that holiday weekend — all 3.5 million of them. And he didn’t even botch his lip sync like Scotty McCreery or Avril Lavigne did.

The green celebrity duo of Justin Bieber and Cee Lo Green even made headlines in USA Today, with their famous faces lending a helping hand to those families and children in need this Christmas holiday season.
