After an incredibly difficult personal year, pop music singer and Disney Princess Demi Lovato has risen to the top of the Hollywood star celebs tier. She will be hosting one of the New Years Eve celebration television shows. Featuring special guests like Selena Gomez and live music performances from a wide variety of stars, Lovato can ask fans one simple question. What good did you do in 2011? Here’s the answer to that question for her — with the hopes that sharing good news about the teen scene celebrity will help people to make doing more charity work one of their 2012 New Years Resolutions.

Who is Demi LovatoDisney princess Demi Lovato will be co-hosting MTV’s annual New Year’s Eve Special live from Times Square in New York City, the star celeb revealed to Seventeen. [She is a contributing editor for the magazine]. She’ll be co-hosting with actor and musician Tyler Posey, who nearly landed the role of Jacob Black in the Twilight franchise, but ultimately lost out to Taylor Lautner.

Demi Lovato will be joined by an all-star cast, including bestie and Disney princess Selena Gomez of Wizards of Waverly Place fame. The show will start at 11 p.m. ET, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The network plans to offer a delayed recording will be broadcast to the West Coast so people in Hollywood, California can share the enjoyment.

The actress and singer-songwriter will be singing her new single, “Give Your Heart a Break.” [We’re not sure if this is the new country song that she tweeted about recently, but it’s sure to be great, and it gives fans something to look forward to in the new year.] Either way, she’s far from just another celebrity on stage. The green celebrity is extremely grateful for her fortune, and she’s quick to thank her fans and wish them all the best.

In her post to Seventeen (a popular teen scene magazine), Demi Lovato wrote:

Holidays can be wonderful for many people, but they can also be difficult for others. I’ve had difficult holidays myself and I hope that everyone out there who is struggling this holiday season can reach out and talk to someone about whatever hardships they may be experiencing. I also wish every single one of you a healthy and happy holiday season and amazing New Year. See you in 2012!!!

It’s heartwarming to see the actress and singer really think about what it means to ring in the new year with new hopes, new opportunities, and new chances. Not only is she grateful for all of her own accomplishments in 2011 — like giving to the Red Cross, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Kids Wish Network — the Camp Rock star celeb genuinely wants the same for her fans (not just for herself) in 2012.

Go Demi Lovato! It’s great to see that celebrity status isn’t ruining kids these days, the way it seems to negatively impact so many adult stars. If this is a new trend to become green celebrities like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, it’s a trend well worth starting off the new year. Let’s all wish her the best in 2012 as well.

If you have not figured out your New Years Resolutions for 2012 yet, volunteer for charity!
