It is not a hoax, a joke or a rumors. Singer Whitney Houston, once famous for her good looks and golden singing voice, is dead. The diva was found non-responsive in her Beverly Hills hotel. Only 48-years-old, there has not been a cause of death released. Was her death a suicide, drug overdose, or was the celebrity’s body just too tired to keep going? Just a day before the 2012 Grammy Awards, the singer passed away right before she was scheduled to sing live for her celebrity friends at a pre – Grammy party.
People Magazine was one of the first entertainment news sources to confirm that pop music singer Whitney Houston died unexpectedly at the age of 48. According to the source, “Her publicist, Kristen Foster, confirmed the singer’s death Saturday only hours before Houston was due to perform at music mogul Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.”
Police then told the gossip magazine that they would confirm the sad story.
According to them, “Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills fire and police responded minutes later…” Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen then told PEOPLE, “Someone in her entourage found her unresponsive in her room … It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”
Houston was known for her drug addiction problems and failed marriage to Bobby Brown as much as she was for her Grammys. A former beauty queen, she once held the entertainment world’s favor as if she was a real queen (not just a beauty).
In recent years, she’s been struggling to make a comeback. However, rumor mills showcased so many unflattering paparazzi pictures that fans and critics both worried whether or not she was in as good health as she indicated whenever she was interviewed.
Her daughter had also been arrested for drugs — so it was pretty clear to most that the performer’s family life was not that great.
Over the years, Whitney Houston did try to use her star power wisely. She gave her celebrity endorsement to non-profit organizations like the Red Cross, the Children’s Defense Fund, and the United Service Organization.
