Wrestling legend Macho Man Randy Savage might be dead and gone, but his memory as a man and wrestling legend will not soon be forgotten. Time Magazine and TMZ were just two of the entertainment news sources to pay special tribute to the fallen sports hero. Savage, who was tragically killed in a car accident on the highways of Florida after having a heart attack while driving. Which celebrity death rumors about wrestling greats are true? Hulk Hogan is alive and fighting with his ex-wife but Miss Elizabeth (Randy Savage’s ex) is actually deceased, too. The wrestler died happily married to someone else, wiser for the experience of leaving a bad relationship without keeping up the legal battle royales like the Hulkster is…

Dead or Alive Wrestling LegendsIt’s time to look back on 2011. There were plenty of successes and failures, gains and losses. And one man is looking back on a loss from last year, but remembering a life cherished by thousands. Lanny Poffo, brother of professional wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage (Randy Poffo) who died in a May 2011 car accident following a heart attack while he was driving, remembered his older brother with a poem, reported TMZ (video).

The poem, delivered with the sort of sincerity and flair that only the brother of the Macho Man could hope to achieve, looked forward into the new year and beyond — to love, to remember, and to extend the star celeb wrestler’s legacy into the great beyond. Macho Man Randy Savage has been called the most charismatic man in all of sports entertainment history.

Time remembered the Macho Man as well, wishing a fond farewell to the star celeb known for his guttural voice and his over the top costumes. Likewise, anyone who ever enjoyed a Slim Jim has to miss the Randy Savage phenomenon, which encouraged wrestling fans and snackers alike to “Snap into a Slim Jim!”

Friend and professional wrestling competitor Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea) also looked back on the life of Randy Savage shortly after the tragic accident that took the star celeb’s life. Hogan mourned not only the loss of a cherished celebrity, but mourned the loss of a newly rekindled friendship. The two had been caught up in a dispute that left the two not talking to one another for nearly a decade.

Now Hogan is battling his ex-wife, Linda Bollea, who accused the Hulk of abusing her physically and emotionally, according to Us Weekly. Hogan filed suit early in December 2011, following the release of a book his ex-wife wrote: Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes. Even into a new year, some things never change, and lawsuits are one of them.

While sports websites will undoubtedly continue to reference the epic wrestling arena battles both between and featuring Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan (from back in the 1980s and 1990s WWF and WWE days), maybe he can make a New Year’s Resolution for 2012 to not get so caught up over the little things so he doesn’t miss out on something good … like spending more time forging a new wrestling partnership or mentoring in a friendship with a younger version of a Macho Man Randy Savage rather than spending his free time engaged in petty squabbles with a vindictive woman. As for that life lesson (to walk away from a battle no one person will ever win), Savage apparently learned it early on. He and Miss Elizabeth divorced years ago. In a strange twist of fate, she actually died long before he did. Savage is rumored to have died happily married to another lady. She was actually with him in the fatal car crash but survived her physical injuries, living through it.
