The ghost of Whitney Houston has been haunting none other than her daughter Bobbi Kristina! The young girl claims she hears her mother’s voice in the house she inherited from her famous mom. The daughter of Bobby Brown and the Grammy winning diva [who was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton just hours before she was supposed to sing at an annual Grammys party for a room full of celebrity friends and music moguls] was very close to her daughter, especially in the years before her passing (following her divorce). Do the Ghost Hunters need to plan a visit to the celebrity home?
Thanks to the untimely celebrity death of singer Whitney Houston, her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has become of the most famous celebrity teens in the world — mainly because she inherited Whitney’s entire fortune and music rights despite being an at-risk teen in a very scary world. While folks suspected Whitney would take care of her mother and father (as well as extended family), she very explicitly left everything to the young lady. Was her decision to trust her daughter to take care of the finances by herself risky? Absolutely… and it might have overwhelmed the youngster emotionally already. She actually claims that her mother might be dead but she’s talking to her regularly.
The news is disconcerting because she’s letting the spirit of her dead mother guide her personal and professional decisions now that she has unfettered access to all that money. Because she thinks her mother is haunting her old celebrity home, Bobbi Kristina says she plans to enter the music business (using her fortune to help pay to get her career started). When she thinks about the future and her career, she says [about her dead mother’s wishes], “I can hear her voice telling me, ‘Keep moving, baby. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me…”
She’s also entertaining thoughts of changing her name and cutting all ties with her father Bobby Brown allege inside sources. He was forced to leave his ex-wife’s funeral after being told he was not allowed to sit with her and the rest of the family.
But whether or not Whitney Houston’s daughter is hallucinating because of a developing mental illness or a real ghost is unclear, as she, like her famous celebrity parents, has already been busted as a party girl who likes living on the edge. Many folks who use the kids of drugs and mix substances that alter consciousness have out of body experiences like mystics or see and hear things that simply are not there. To that end, she light simply be dreaming up the connection to her mother in her afterlife as a side effect of her own desire to self-medicate.
But clearly, claiming she has paranormal experiences is more heartwarming than claiming she got wasted and thought she heard her mama talking to her again.
“She used to always say, ‘Do you need me?’ And I said, ‘I always need you…'” says the teen. Her wish to both have her mother with her (so she can help her) as well as to have her mother be there in return may be so great that her subconscious may be generating visions that her mother’s ghost is both real and wants her to start singing, acting, and dancing for a living.
[We only say this respectfully, as Whitney Houston had made no effort to bring Bobbi Kristina into the business as a performing actress before her death date.]
On a positive note, Bobbi Kristina says that since her mother’s death, she’s woken up early in the morning and started to pray. “[Mom] would say, ‘At 5 a.m. the saints start praying,'” her daughter recalls. “I wake up now and look at the clock and it’s 5 o’clock. I start praying.”
She also admitted to Oprah Winfrey during a celebrity interview that she truly believes her mother is still living with her in the house. Bobbi Kristina claims her mother’s ghost is making lights flicker so wildly they actually turn on and off. She claims, “Lights turn on and off and I’m like, ‘Mom, what are you doing?'”
But she is comforted rather than scared by the thought that her mother is a ghost. “I can still laugh with her and still talk to her…” says Whitney’s daughter.
For the rest of us, if we want to see of hear Whitney Houston, we need look no further than our home computers. Thanks to technology, we’ll always be able to see her in celebrity interviews on YouTube and listen to her sing on video. Or, if we’re feeling particularly sappy, we can always rent The Body Guard — her hit film with green celebrity Kevin Costner.
During her lifetime (despite her own personal problems with a bad marriage and drug addiction), Whitney Houston was a charitable celeb. The United Negro College Fund was one of her favorite non-profit organizations to help by making donations and using her star power to help them raise money at fund-raisers.
Now that she’s dead, we never expected to spot Whitney Houston on an episode of Ghost Hunters… but can you imagine what EVP recordings of her singing in the afterlife would be worth to sell to help raise money for the estate or would bring at a charity benefit auction?
What do YOU think? Is Whitney Houston really a ghost haunting her daughter’s house or coaching her about becoming the next great singing star? Do you think it matters that her daughter does not have her mother’s world-famous good looks to help her become a star? Should she get into the entertainment business — and if so, should she ask her famous LIVING father Bobby Brown for his mentoring, guidance, and help? Or do you think that Bobbi Kristina is just hoping to turn the family home into a tourist attraction… a R&B Graceland of sorts? Let other readers know your thoughts in the comments section below.
