The Kim Jong-Il dictatorship was long parodied by comedy television programs in the United States. Mad TV was one hit television show in the West that used to make jokes about the communist leader being obsessed with Western culture and loving to perpetrate human rights abuses. Saturday Night Live (SNL) was another. George Clooney openly supporting gays and gay marriage (finally)?
The Wrap (an entertainment news website) reports Clooney will star in a one-night-only production of “8”. The theater production will happen at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre on March 3, 2012. Directed by Rob Reiner, all proceeds from the LGBT civil rights supporting event will go to the American Foundation for Equal Rights, of which Reiner and play writer Dustin Lance Black are founding members. The show “8” will be a rendition of the same production that ran in New York City in September of 2011. That production cast boasts other big name Hollywood star celebs like Morgan Freeman, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, and Christine Lahti. Keep reading…
