DWTS Karina Smirnoff fell, claims Ralph Macchio jinxed by Tom Bergeron?

Dancing With The Stars News!

DWTS Karina Smirnoff fell, claims Ralph Macchio jinxed by Tom Bergeron?

[Apr. 26]

Karina Smirnoff and Karate Kid actor Ralph Macchio had an upset last night on Dancing with the Stars. Karina apparently tripped over Ralph’s coat during their Paso Doble routine to the tune of C & C Music Factory’s Everybody Dance Now (remember that one from the 80s?). They still earned a respectable score from the judges — 24 out of 30, but it still was low enough to put them in second to last place.

This of course is following Kirstie Alley’s wardrobe malfunction, when her shoe fell off, and another fall when Maksim Chmerkovskiy took partner Kirstie Alley down with him when his hip gave out. And we thought this was Spring, not Fall.

Karina Smirnoff helped sum it up for People:

While they earned a respectable 24 out of 30 points, tripping over Macchio’s coat “was disappointing, because it was such an awesome routine and Ralph was doing such an awesome job,” a dejected Smirnoff said backstage. “I think the floor is jinxed.”

And Kirstie Alley tells People:

“I think Tom Bergeron is the one making everyone fall,” Alley jokes, noting that the spot where so many have gone down is precisely where Dancing’s beloved host stands for most of the show. “If you look closely I think you will probably see the shenanigans he’s up to when we’re not on the dance floor. Always go for the nice guy. Always.”

Whatever the case, Karina Smirnoff and Ralph Macchio have been holding on tight, staying well up in the top contenders on Dancing with the Stars this season, so it will be interesting to see if this fall will put them out of the running, or if they’ll be able to hold on for another episode.

Karina Smirnoff is looking for your love and your votes. She went to Twitter: “Thank u all so much for ur kind words and support! It means a world to us! And thank u for believing in us! Love u.”

Dancing With The Stars: American Idol Pia Toscano best singer on DWTS?

Dancing With The Stars!

Pia Toscano from American Idol the best guest singer ever?

[Apr. 26]

I will stand by you. That’s the song singer Pia Toscano knocked out of the ballpark during her live guest appearance on DWTS Tuesday April 26th, 2011. Tom asked the big question, “How the hell did you get voted off?” The new celebrity singer was ousted from American Idol in a freak vote, astonishing judges and fans. Proving her meddle on her live song, the gorgeous girl proved she already is a star celeb of note whose career people will want to follow from now on. Was her song the best on the ABC dance competition? Let’s put it this way… while the other celebrity guests singing were New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys — who were great individually and combined into the boy power band NKOTBSB — she truly was the one who rocked the house.

Pia Toscano is rumored to be dating professional dancer Mark Ballas, the outstanding choreographer who will sure take his dance partner Disney starlet Chelsea Kane to the finals. He has finally come into his own during the 2011 season as his best friend Derek Hough elected to sit this season out. The two are always vying for top spots, but Derek — the golden boy with a big smile and pretty blonde hair — has always managed to get the better celebrity dance partner. That is, up until now.

Chelsea Kane is as lovable as a golden girl as Derek was fun to watch, and she meets and exceeds every dance move challenge sweetie Mark Ballas dreams up. Fans are a bit disappointed to hear that the celebrity teen is not dating young Mark; they are happy to see Mark is dating the lovely brunette Pia Toscano on the other hand.

On the episode where wrestler Chris Jherico got voted off, while surprise dancer Kendra Wilkinson stayed on thanks to her risqué Rumba April 25th, the star of the night was Pia Toscano.

Did dancer Mark Ballas get American Idol singer Pia Toscano on DWTS?

Hollywood Gossip!

Did Mark Ballas secretly help ex American Idol contestant Pia Toscano get a gig singing on DWTS?

[Apr. 20]

Dancer Mark Ballas and Disney princess Chelsea Kane are keeping up with the rankings on Dancing with the Stars. Sources close to the production crew on DWTS staff are wondering if Ballas pulled some strings to to get the American Idol favorite onto Dancing with the Stars. After Pia introduced herself to the dance pro by way of a mutual acquaintance of wrestling star Chris Jericho, who also is a competitor on DWTS. Ballas says, no, though. Even thought judge favorite Pia Toscano was voted off of American Idol, she is still a hot commodity in Hollywood social circles as a new voice and pretty face, and the hot male celebrity dance pro took note. Apparently, that Pia Toscano will be performing next week on Dancing with the Stars while Ballas dances with Karina Smirnoff on the April 26 results episode thanks to a romantic spark between Pia and Mark. But he denies being anything more than just friends and claims he has zero influence with the producers decisions who to bring on the show as musical guests.

Ummm… yeah. Sure he doesn’t have any pull… and of course they are just friends… and no WAY the DWTS producers would ever think of capitalizing on some free press if one of their dance pros just happens to hook up on his down time with the hottest female contestant ever voted off American Idol.

Bieber Fever: Should Biebs next step be Dancing With The Stars?

Bieber Fever hits DWTS!

Should Biebs next step be on Dancing With The Stars?

[Apr. 20]

Bieber Fever victims, be cool. While Justin Bieber himself may have caught the acting fever, after his stint on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation earlier this year, when he was finally killed off as a troubled teen bomber, he has no intention of giving up music anytime soon. He has said his first passion always will be music — singing and dancing, though he really has enjoyed being in front of the camera and would like to do some more work in television or film. But what about him doing another reality TV type gig — like Dancing With The Stars — that would give him the chance to show off a bit more of his personal and professional nature to the Bieber Fever gang like he did in his 3D movie about his life history?

Reports HollyScoop:

“I definitely want to do more acting, and further my career in that area, that’s something I would love to do.”

Singing, dancing, acting. What’s next other than joining up with adult and other teen celebrities that could be more sensational than DWTS, Bieber fever basket-weaving? Soap Opera special guest appearances on a show like All My Children with actress Susan Lucci (maybe getting involved in a cougar romance)? Oh wait… scratch that. All My Children just got canceled.

We’ve already heard teasers from Romeo about doing something special with the Biebs on Dancing with the Stars, should Romeo make it to the finals. Seriously, though, what else could the Biebs get into later in his career. He has a long way to go, certainly.

Justin Bieber was a hit on the New York late night comedy series Saturday Night Live with actress Tina Fey. And, again, for those who don’t know about the Biebs life story he’s had his own movie, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

With the hint that he could be appearing on Dancing with the Stars coming from Romeo (a hip hop performer who is the youngest on DWTS this 2011 season), we have to wonder … could Justin Bieber make it as a reality television star who competes with other star celebs for the general public and Mirror Ball trophy hyped media attention?

DWTS: Kirstie Alley modern dance version of a Cinderella story?

DWTS News!

Kirstie Alley new modern dance version of Cinderella story?

[Apr. 12]

Actress Kirstie Alley is having a little trouble on Dancing with the Stars, but she’s been recovering nicely, continuing to earn respectable scores from the judges. Last week, Maksim Chmerkovskiy had a fall during the Rumba to the tune of Over the Rainbow, taking Kirstie Alley down with him, but they recovered. Kirstie Alley joked that she’d wind up having a wardrobe malfunction, which wound up happening. During this week’s Waltz, the Cheers and Who’s Talking Now actress lost a shoe.

While Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy make it seem almost effortless to recover from some bizarre mishaps the last couple of weeks, it starts to make one wonder if Kirstie Alley is just jinxed this season on Dancing with the Stars. Really. The 60-year-old actress and subject of innumerable jibes at her up-and-down issues with weight started off the show with incredible grace.

But like Cinderella, it seems Kirstie Alley, no matter how amazing and talented, can’t seem to get away from the curse on her. If it’s not fat actress jokes, which she brushes off, willing even to laugh at herself, then it’s a fall (for which Maksim Chmerkovskiy takes complete responsibility) or a lost shoe. Poor Cinderella.

But her prince, Maksim, seems there, ready to sweep her off her feet over and over, and the couple has proved remarkably resilient to any trouble that comes their way. It would be a real shame to lose a vote to something so simple, but given the simple grace with which she accepted the mishap (except for lobbing the F-bomb in an after-show interview) it’s hard to believe anyone would fault the couple for the slip.

DWTS: Mark Ballas and Chelsea Kane magical Harry Potter Waltz enchanted?

To heck with the judges scores, thought professional dancer and choreographer Mark Ballas when he created an enchanted waltz theme for celebrity contestant Chelsea Kane. Gorgeous. Beautiful. What more can a person say about this perfect Waltz, featured on Dancing With The Stars and later as a video review by PopCrunch, with a twist of modernity lent by the theme from Harry Potter? Len can say whatever he wants about the routine wrecking 300 years of traditional waltz interpretation, but Bruno and Carrie Ann carried the sentiment with the night, agreeing that Team Kanenball’s routine was “magical”.
