Guess what? You will never believe it. Shock jock Howard Stern is actually a good guy. “Shock Jock” Howard Stern is married to the spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America, Beth Stern — and a cheeky Lena Dunham teased him for marrying such a skinny girl. In 2011, Stern got on board with his wife, to create a calendar of shelter pets. Each month of the calendar has a picture of Beth Stern with one of the many lovable and adoptable canines and felines available from the shelter she works for. Pet-friendly celebrity Miranda Lambert’s life is going to the dogs
Miranda Lambert’s life has gone to the dogs. Even though her guitar and autographs are about to go on sale at auction to benefit charity, being rich and famous does not mean you and your romantic partner life is easy or work free. For instance, the pet friendly celebrity who is married to country music singer Blake Shelton shared the following funny tweet. Lambert wrote, “I just gave 4 dogs and myself a bath. That’s a lot of “Bitches” to bathe!” on her official Twitter page. Who is she? Lambert rose to fame on the reality TV show “Nasheville Star” and husband Blake Shelton is a celebrity judge on “The Voice”. Keep reading…
PETA mad Toto from The Wizard of Oz might be state dog of Kansas?
PETA (the non-profit organization that crusades for animal rights) is opposed to Kansas making Toto their state dog. Whenever someone thinks of actress Judy Garland, chances are they picture her standing there holding her little dog Toto and clicking the heels of her ruby red slippers together while wishing her way back to Kansas. If the state can get licensed to use the movie image of Dorothy and her dog, the boon to the tourist industry could be enough to give local residents the financial windfall to be able to not only buy The Wizard of Oz pets but to also take great care of them (despite the current economic recession). George Clooney ex girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis dating a Jackass?
Steve-O is really not that bad of a person — and even though he gets paid big money to act like one on TV, he really is not an idiot. He spends his quality time abusing himself, not other people. In fact, like Elisabetta Canalis, he is also a die-hard vegetarian. He actually walked out of a charity event for the American Diabetes Foundation because they served meat. He made a great point that them serving meat (instead of a healthy vegetarian alternative) was like serving alcohol at an AA meeting. [He’s right, actually. Just think about Paula Deen announcing to the press she’s got Type 2 Diabetes, then eating Cheeseburgers.] Keep reading…
Pet friendly actress Mary Tyler Moore won SAG Lifetime Achievement Award
While living the life of a successful career girl, Mary Tyler Moore never forgot the importance of using her star power wisely. She advocated throughout her entire career to help causes for those suffering from or at risk of developing diabetes. She also worked her tail off, allowing animal rights activists to note that her tale of saving tails was truly inspiring. Some of her favorite charities and causes to volunteer for and donate to over the years have included Broadway Barks (a pet friendly charity she co-founded as a non-profit organization with actress Bernadette Peters) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Celebrity chef Paula Deen kept Type 2 Diabetes secret for 3 years?
Why did Paula Deen keep news about her health a secret for over three years? As a result of her promotion of the most unhealthy recipes she could possibly create, celebrity chefs like Anthony Bourdain are being extremely critical of her. Since the Food Network behind the scenes rumor is she’s been in talks for years to pitch a new diabetes drug for Novo Nordisk, she has not gotten any sympathy for her disease. Confirming Type 2 Diabetes has (in the short term) not worked out so well for her. But, according to the pharmaceutical company and Paula Deen herself, she has never planned to endorse any pill for them. So why not tell? Keep reading…
