Some people jokingly call it the divorce diet, but extreme weight loss is no laughing matter when grief and betrayal cause it. Ashton Kutcher, the man who famously beat CNN to the one million follower mark on Twitter, allegedly cheated on his wife with a girl roughly the same age as her daughters. The aspiring actress named Sarah Leal might be proud of herself for hooking up with the Two And A Half Men star, but by betraying his trust (as a mistress) and selling her detailed account of their torrid one night stand at a Hard Rock Hotel, she humiliated actress Demi Moore and destroyed her family. While Kutcher is solely to blame for the infidelity, the stress of the marital issues compounded by Leal’s incessant bragging has caused Demi to suffer physically as well as emotionally. Here is her story.
Dangerously thin and painfully aware of it: even the most beautiful celebrities have issues with staying healthy and keeping a positive body image, many to the point of obsessing over it. Often these issues start percolating as a result of stress coming in the form of relationship troubles. In the case of Demi Moore, who filed for divorce from Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher, the already too thin star celeb actually has lost weight since learning of her husband’s cheating and philandering.
Saying her dieting issues are rooted in the way she feels about herself, mostly, she claims she often obsesses about how she looks to make herself feel more worthy reports OK! Magazine — which as most people intellectually (if not emotionally) understand is totally unhealthy.
Talking about her self esteem issues, Moore relates:
Demi revealed, “I would say what scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved. That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me… that I wasn’t wanted here in the first place.”
Her quotes absolutely break your heart to read — especially if you have ever been cheated on or betrayed in a relationship that should have left you feeling protected and honored in a way that you need.
Infidelity might cause any normal person to loos weight if they are too emotionally distraught to worry about eating. But the weight loss is a sympton of the bigger crisis — as Demi Moore lost weight, the stress on her physical form has caused her to age more rapidly — something also taking a toll on her overall image of herself as one of the most famous faces known for her beauty.
Fortunately, her downward spiral into the perils of extreme weight loss are something she noticed herself. Rather than embracing her new looks, she says she wants to repair and replenish her body. The Ghost actress may be thin — even too thin, according to her. The star celeb, who co-founded the Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA Foundation) to combat child slavery, had become a slave to her own self-image, though she is working hard to get past it.
Gossip Cop reported:
The actress, who acknowledges that she’s “extremely thin,” says she now has a “greater acceptance of my body, and that includes not just my weight but all of the things that come with your changing body as you age.”
It can’t be easy for anyone, even a famous celebrity like Demi Moore, to deal with being cheated on by someone 16 years her junior, especially on her six year wedding anniversary. Is she really moving on? It seems very much like she’s still struggling with the events of last year, but it also looks like she’s making the best of a bad situation.
The UK’s Metro reported her as saying:
“To not be defined by your wounds. Somebody wrote something to me that said, ‘Don’t let your wounds make you become someone you’re not.’ That’s really powerful. And not taking life too seriously.”
And that’s as positive an attitude as anyone can take for a New Year’s resolution. We’re sure this famous actress will find love again soon (her marriage to Ashton was her third) and make the very best of it, no matter the circumstances. And we’re pretty sure she doesn’t need to struggle through a failed relationship to lose weight or remain beautiful.
We wish Miss Moore only the best in her future endeavors… and hopes that with the help of nutritionists and counselors she will be able to gain back some of the weight she lost (as she looks happier and healthier and far more attractive when she in not gaunt and looks more curvy). We also hope she does not go out looking for love anytime soon — as rebound relationships are always forged by cravings for love and companionship that are unhealthy. To that end, we hope she’ll take all the time in the world that she needs to get well psychologically as well as physically.
How long will it take for her to release her attachment to Ashton Kutcher? That depends on how long the bond took to create and play out, initially. [Rule of thumb on how to get over a six year marriage = seven years to get sick, seven years to mend a broken heart to full health after the end of the marriage.]
To Sarah Leal, what goes around comes around. As our editor here at GCN points out regularly, “Karma is God’s girlfriend, baby.”
Whether or not Ashton had been cheating on his wife with her for a long time (as some tabloid magazines reported after digging up this photo) or the two only met for the first time the weekend of his wedding anniversary does not really matter.
The point is, if you are a woman knowingly trying to score with a married man or to wreck another person’s relationship to your own advantage, you (and that person) are bound together in such a way that you both will most likely give some small sense of victory that (in the end) will probably make you miserable for an eternity.
As for Ashton Kutcher? Dude, what you’ve done to Demi is seriously not funny.
