Oh, Biebs! If you are going to smoke pot, either fess up that it is part of your lifestyle or don’t let yourself be seen. The baby-faced green celebrity was photographed holding what some media outlets like Access Hollywood are calling a “smoldering blunt” and anybody who is young enough to remember what weed looked like back in the 1960’s and 1970’s knows that the pot calling the kettle black does not make it a different thing, really.
A joint is a joint — and while Justin Bieber might be getting busy with going back on tour and promising to be a better man after breaking up with his darling Disney princess girlfriend Selena Gomez he is not fooling anybody. On a plus note, he seems to know there is no way around the bad publicity. He’s been caught with his own celebrity stoner version of a smoking gun (so to speak).
Regarding the alleged dope incident, Access Hollywood reports:
Justin Bieber delivered a message to his fans on Saturday after photos surfaced online showing the 18-year-old star holding what appears to be a marijuana joint.
“Everyday growing and learning. Trying to be better,” the “Beauty and the Beat” singer Tweeted on Saturday, after TMZ posted photos of the Biebs partying with friends, clutching what the website alleges is “a smoldering blunt.” “U get knocked down, u get up.
“Back on tour tomorrow. Ready to see u all smile. Time to do what I’m supposed to be doing. Performing,” he added.
Such a happy child.
Justin Bieber might be becoming a controversial figure in pop culture right now but it is easy to like the kid anyhow. As a teen scene celebrity, he has used his star power wisely over the years, donating a ton of money and volunteering regularly to a wide variety of charities.
Whether he has advocated for animal rights as a PETA spokesperson, spent time visiting stray pets at animal shelters, has spent time visiting sick children in hospitals, or has been producing albums so he can donate the proceeds to various food bank charities, all in all he really does seem like he tries to do the right thing. And smoking pot is not in and of itself a bad thing.
Since marijuana laws are changing and the medical research is finally being releases that shows what a healthy drug alternative the natural weed can be to smoke or eat, the Biebs partaking for recreational purposes (rather than drinking alcohol or turning to caustic pharmaceuticals) is actually a more healthy thing. Colorado and Washington state have absolutely done the right thing decriminalizing — and California is not far behind them on the learning curve.
After all, the sunny state is now world famous for having medical marijuana dispensaries.
