Was getting new bangs or divorcing Kris Humphries reality television star Kim Kardashian’s worst decision of 2011? The hot brunette from the hit show Keeping Up With The Kardashians used to be known for her charity benefit work and making red carpet appearances. Then, to up her show ratings, she was accused of faking a loving relationship and staging a huge wedding. It was quite the celebrity scandal! Her last symbolic act of 2011 was to go with a new celebrity hairstyle, showing up with bangs to her New Years Eve party in Las Vegas. Was getting her hair cut a bigger mistake than filing for divorce — or will a new look and publicity stunt give her the press she needs to start 2012 with a blank slate in the gossip columns?
Kim Kardashian is rocking a new do for the New Year. The star celeb socialite went to Twitter to ask what she ought to do about her hair. “Should I do bangs?” she tweeted. Apparently, she thought it sounded funny to host her own gang bang poll before going through with wearing a clip. When enough people said yes after seeing comparison pictures of Kim K with and without bangs to compare, she went with it said People Stylewatch. So, looking trendy (rather than like a classic beauty) was how she appeared at her New Years Eve party at Tao in Las Vegas. There, she rung in the New Year making big bucks partying with friends and family during her special guest appearance.
Love ’em or loathe ’em, see Kim Kardashian’s new bangs celebrity hairstyle for 2012 here. [She pretty much looks like a futuristic Cleopatra in the photo.] But changing her hairstyle was not exactly Kim’s New Year’s Resolution — to get her hair cut or new bangs. Making a pledge to erase the general public’s memories of the last year and a half by out-rumoring the rumor mills reports by revealing more and more new information about herself seemed to be her resolution.
She has said that she intends to leave the 2011, and all the criticism over her 72 day marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries, behind. The tweet “Who else is soooo ready to let go of 2011 and have the best 2012 ever!!!” sparked some to suggest that Kim in fact was taking a pot shot at Humphries. Maybe Kim has a dating new man in mind — not continuing to fool around with all the guys she broke up with or was dumped by in the past?
People reported the latest celebrity quote made by the most famous of the Kardashian sisters. Allegedly, Kim K says:
“I’m looking forward to moving forward,” she said, “and never looking back.”
Will getting new bangs or having filed for a divorce 72 days into marriage instead of just pretending for a few years that everything between she and Kris Humphries was okay turn out to be her worst decision of 2011? Even if he did look like the Harry Potter troll, she still could have faked that her oath taken before God to spend the rest of her life with him meant more than 72 days of stating with him.
Our guess is, if she really cut her hair it will take longer to grow back that it will for her to repair all the publicity damage the fake wedding did for her in the press.
Website iVillage noted that Kim K openly claims she wants 2012 to be a simpler year. To that end, always pro-active publicity stunt girl Kim Kardashian decided to change her Twitter account to a blank background instead of the flashier versions that most star celebs use. We’re not exactly certain that’s the way to tone down on Kardashian excess, but it may be a start.
Anything can happen in a Keeping Up With The Kardashians world, as loyal reality television show fans will tell anyone who asks about watching them.
Whatever bad publicity she’s getting nowadays, Kim K certainly helped bring in the New Year with a bang as well as her bangs. Yahoo! reported Kim was paid $600,000 for her appearance at Tao Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve, making it the biggest single financial day of the year for the Kardashian enterprise, according to Perez Hilton.
Well, that is, except for her wedding day…
We wonder if Kim won’t donate some of that cash to an Alicia Keys charity, Keep a Child Alive, for which the star celeb has appeared in a coffin, playing dead, encouraging viewers to Buy Life. The site says it takes just $5 to Keep a Child Alive, which translates to 120,000 children in African nations who could receive lifesaving AIDS treatment. It seems to us a green celebrity like Kim Kardashian should take some of that dough she got for appearing on New Year’s Eve, and send it the way of the charity she claims to support.
What say you, Kim? We’re not saying that changing your Twitter background to something more respectable [and less sensational] isn’t a start, but maybe you can kick off the New Year doing something really positive (and simple). We know you’re up to the task to giving a little back. How about donating some of that Big Bang Theory cash back to help save lives? Or is your 2012 PR plan still to get yourself as much free press as you can by getting your name involved with celebrity scandal?
